About this project
Pigs convert feed efficiently when housing, hygiene and nutrition are right, and very poorly when they are not. Pen layout, drainage and waste handling do as much for growth rates as the ration does.
This work covered the design and establishment of a piggery unit, together with the feeding and health routines needed to run it — from farrowing arrangements through to finishing stock.
